Cecilia Routledge, Global Director CTEK E-mobility The global conscience towards environmental change is driven by the shift in attitude towards adopting environmentally friendly solutions; the electric vehicle (EV) market is one such avenue that has witnessed a lot of traction in the recent past. EV adoption targets and government incentives for both the individual EV driver, corporate organisations, and local authorities are indicative of the fact that EV driving is rapidly becoming a more attractive option for the consumer, and we are starting to see a real growth in sales of EVs across the globe. With this growth comes another big challenge – that of EV charging infrastructure. One, sufficient charging stations need to be available to meet demand with sufficient power to handle multiple EV charging outlets at once. Second, consideration needs to be given to load balancing, to optimize the EV charging network, protect against system overload and avoid energy wastage. Third, as is the case with every technology, usability and management of the network should be given the highest priority. A Swedish company, CTEK, is already at the forefront, offering a complete EV charging solution that addresses all of the above requirements.
CTEK is well poised to meet changing customer needs by listening, evolving, and innovating its hardware, software, and other services to provide reliable and easy-to-use solutions.
Established over 20 years ago and considered to be a leading global brand in battery management solutions, CTEK has a comprehensive understanding of the EV industry, in turn, creating endto- end products and solutions to support flexible, reliable and future-proof EV charging infrastructure.
“We don’t just aim to sell an EV charger; we focus on the complete solution,” says Cecilia Routledge, Director of EV at CTEK. “We offer load-balancing and complete EV system management through our Charge Portal.” CTEK’s Charge Portal is a cloud-based platform that gives its customers a complete view of their EV charging network. It’s easy-to-use and intuitive system interface provides a detailed overview of charging point status and overall activity. The portal can be seamlessly integrated with CTEK’s Chargestorm Connected 2 EV charger, as well as third-party payment and OCPP compliant systems.
Chargestorm Connected 2 is a charging station available with single or dual output, single-phase or 3-phase compatibility, 3.7kW to 22kW power outputs, as well as optional 4G connectivity. The product has in-built MID-approved energy meter(s), fuse, RCBO, and DC-leakage detector. CTEK has also recently launched the NJORD GO EV charger, a smaller portable charger that can also be mounted to the wall as a more permanent installation. CTEK’s strong approach to innovation, quality and useability has helped the company form strategic partnerships and gain numerous clients across the globe, including energy companies, large corporate organisations, car park operators and local authorities, as well as 40 of the world’s most renowned automobile manufacturers.

We don’t just aim to sell an EV charger; we focus on the complete solution,” says Cecilia Routledge, Director of EV at CTEK.
One such recent partnership was with Ferroamp, the Swedish manufacturer of innovative electronics for efficient use of electricity. Ferroamp’s offering - EnergyHub - integrates solar energy, EV charging, energy storage, and power from the grid for optimal utilization of power. EnergyHub acts as a meter that informs how much power is available within the property and is an excellent phase balancer. Now coupled with CTEK’s Chargestorm Connected 2 and load-balancing solution, the combination is considered one of the safest, most efficient, and reliable EV charging solutions on the market.
The company has also signed a deal with a London-based provider of zerocost EV charge points and infrastructure to install 100,000 charging points across the U.K and continues to expand its presence across the globe. “Our people make it their responsibility to understand market needs, demands and developments,” says Routledge. “CTEK is well poised to meet changing customer needs by listening, evolving, and innovating its hardware, software, and other services to provide reliable and easy-to-use solutions.”
