The all-in-one charging kiosk offers companies additional revenue streams while providing electric vehicle drivers a consistent charging experience.
FREMONT, CA: Electric vehicles charge their batteries with electricity instead of fossil fuels such as gasoline or diesel. Electric vehicles are more efficient, and when paired with the cost of power, charging an electric vehicle is less expensive than refueling with gasoline or diesel. Palmer Digital Group, Samsung, and IoTecha Corp. have just released a new EV charging kiosk that integrates Samsung's OH series displays, IoTecha's sophisticated EV charging technology, and Palmer Digital Group's robust integrated solutions. The charging kiosk provides rapid and dependable charging for EV vehicles and offers companies new options to visually engage with customers and create cash.
The charging kiosk has superior charging and display technology, including intelligent monitoring systems, improved safety measures, and weather-resistant and long-lasting construction. It enables clients to construct their level 2 charging infrastructure in configurations that are adaptable to their business and charging requirements, including one or two Samsung OH55A displays and one or two 80-amp charging connections. Incorporating cable retractors, card readers, cameras, and speakers enables site hosts to create distinctive, driver-friendly user experiences.
With a maximum capacity of 19.2 kW at 80 amps per charging connection, the kiosk provides EV drivers with the quickest and most economical level 2 charging experience. Built on IoTech's leading smart, connected, and interoperable charging technology, the kiosk supports Plug and Charge, smart charging, Plug, and Charge based on ISO/IEC 15118, and smart energy management. Customers can lower the total cost of ownership of their EV charging infrastructure by remotely monitoring, configuring, and updating EV chargers, and optimizing energy flows with IoTechas topology-aware energy management services. The ability to remotely evaluate and address ISO/IEC 15118 interoperability issues, improving the charging experience, is a significant differentiator of IoTechas's technology.
“This EV charging kiosk is a great example of a multi-stakeholder collaboration where industry leaders contributed their state-of-the-art technology to offer an EV charging solution with many types of customers, from businesses to end users, in mind,” says Oleg Logvinov, CEO of IoTecha. “The kiosk supports the latest technical requirements laid out by the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program by supporting ISO 15118, OCPP, and Plug and Charge. By meeting these standards, businesses deploying the new charging kiosk may qualify for NEVI funding to further offset deployment costs and users are provided an improved charging experience.”
The Samsung OH55A displays integrated into the charging station provide new avenues for consumer involvement and income generation for enterprises. Displays can be exploited for advertising and promotion, hence generating new revenue sources for enterprises. In addition, by providing a quick and dependable charging solution, businesses can attract and retain electric vehicle drivers.
"The electric vehicle industry is experiencing tremendous growth, and as adoption continues to increase, we're thrilled to play a key role in making chargers a destination for drivers," says David Phelps, Head of Product Management, Display Division at Samsung Electronics America. "By partnering with Palmer Digital Group and IoTecha, we're able to collaboratively create a unique environment that engages drivers on a deeper level while charging their vehicles. The marriage of captivating content with high-quality displays is revolutionizing the electric vehicle experience, and we're just getting started."
