Panasonic Energy, one of the global leaders in lithium-ion batteries, has reached a deal with Kansas, one of the nation's economic development pioneers, to advance the EV industry in the United States.

Panasonic Energy Co., Ltd., a Panasonic Group subsidiary and Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly jointly reveal that Kansas has approved Panasonic Energy Co., Ltd.'s Attracting Powerful Economic Expansion (APEX) state incentive* application. The agreement, if approved by Panasonic Holdings Corporation's Board of Directors, would make the state the site of a proposed US-based lithium-ion battery production facility.

Panasonic Energy is one of the global leaders in lithium-ion batteries, with a century of battery innovation covering both battery cell technology and battery business operations. Panasonic Energy intends to increase its EV battery output as the automobile sector transitions to more sustainable electric technology. The company has contributed to the increased efficiency and economies of scale required to accomplish this change. The planned Kansas site supports the company's aim to contribute to society by lowering global carbon emissions.
