AsteRx SBi3 enables highly accurate and dependable three-dimensional mapping solutions using sensor fusion and LiDAR.
FREMONT, CA: Septentrio, a market leader in high-precision GNSS/INS positioning solutions, and XenomatiX, a provider of true-solid-state LiDAR technology for autonomous applications and road management solutions, partners to enable the development of high-quality Lidar solutions.
XenomatiX will use Septentrio's AsteRx SBi3 Pro+ compact and rugged GNSS/INS receiver to provide millimeter-accurate analysis of pavement conditions using global positioning coordinates.
Septentrio's high-performance GNSS/INS integrates into Xenomatix's road LiDAR solution, XenoTrack, which has long been the preferred solution for road surveyors and road management companies. Septentrio's AsteRx SBi3 high-performance RTK GNSS/INS receiver with dual antenna configuration ensures centimeter-accurate geotagging of XenoTrack point cloud frames for relative and global millimeter accuracy over long distances. Additionally, the algorithm's unique inertial GNSS – IMU integration enables dead-reckoning or continuous positioning in environments with low satellite visibility of GNSS outages.
While conventional road scanning using laser, profilers rely entirely on exact GNSS/INS to stitch consecutive profiles together, the XenoTrack captures a 3D topography of an entire area in a single shot. The sensor fusion algorithms developed by XenomatiX combine visual SLAM techniques with GNSS, IMU, and CAN to create a continuous map of the road shape.
The proprietary GNSS+ technology developed by Septentrio is critical in delivering the accuracy and reliability required for XenoTrack. The AIM+ Advanced Interference Mitigation technology ensures stable positioning even in the presence of jammers, which are frequently found on vehicles attempting to avoid road tolls. When the sky is obscured for an extended period, the built-in RAIM+ integrity algorithm indicates when other sensor input should take precedence to maintain a high-quality solution.
XenomatiX provides a comprehensive mapping system and services that incorporate data from the XenoTrack sensor, camera, and RTK GNSS/INS receiver with dual antenna - all packaged in an easy-to-install solution for a standard vehicle.
