Vingroup Appoints Michael Lohscheller as New CEO of VinFast Global

Michael Lohscheller joins Vingroup.

FREMONT, CA: Vingroup, Vietnam's largest conglomerate, appoints Michael Lohscheller as CEO of VinFast Global. Lohscheller will be in charge of expanding VinFast's global operations.

Micheal Lohscheller will take over as CEO of VinFast in Vietnam and focus on building the firm in North America and Europe. Making VinFast into an international innovative electric car firm will be part of that.

Before joining Volkswagen Group America, Michael Lohscheller held executive positions in finance, technology, purchasing, and logistics. He left VW to become CEO of Opel for four years. Lohscheller turned around Opel's fortunes after decades of losses. He also helped Opel become an electric car brand.

Lohscheller's professional career The German CEO was born in 1968 and graduated in 1992 from Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences (Germany) and the University of Barcelona (Spain). Michael Lohscheller finished a Master's Program in European Marketing Management and earned his M.A. from Brunel University London during his working years.

Michael Lohscheller has over two decades of experience in the automotive industry, having served in a variety of senior positions, including Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Mitsubishi Motors Europe, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Volkswagen Group of America, Chief Executive Officer at Opel Automobile GmbH, and Member of the Board of Directors at PSA Group.

Michael Lohscheller was honored during his term as Opel CEO with the following renowned awards for outstanding automotive executives: Eurostar 2019 (Automotive News), Manbest 2019 (Autobest), and Manager of the Year 2019. (AutoZeitung).
